Are you free on Friday lunchtimes to give us a hand?

We are looking for crafters on a Friday lunchtime who have a bit of time and energy to help out. We have a craft group (with lots of fabulous resources) who make things to sell to raise funds for Magic Carpet. The more crafters, the more we can make and the more money we can raise. Simple! The group we have at the moment are fabulous but it would be lovely to have a few more people to come along so Hannah (who is in charge of this project) can run a fabulous stall with lots of amazing things on it. We meet at the hub's coffee time at noon-1:30pm on Fridays. You can just turn up and muck in.

Have a look at Magic Carpet's website.

Exeter Gingerbread Group for Single Parents

A message from Claire at Exeter Gingerbread (a social group for single parents and their children)

Dear All I'm just trying to find out who feels they will make it to the meet next week at the Hub  - Wednesday 13th March 3.30-5.30pm?  For those who would like to we will be creating Easter headwear by recycling any hats that we bring along with various arts and crafts materials.  Please can you let me know if you are intending to come along and whether you would like to do the crafting so that I can prepare the right amount of crafting materials and make arrangements for my time also - thank you. 23rd March - I can be at the Pheonix Arts centre cafe from 2pm for an hour or so to chat with anyone who can come along about any ideas for the group and any feedback.  People can stay for as long as they want to, or if you can't make it please email me any ideas you have.  Its our group and its important eveyone has a say in the way forward.   7th April meet up at Pheonix family Sundays - can anyone turn up and meet others who may like to go to this?   I am not available to do this due to other commitments.  There is no pressure or  responsibility apart from being the first person to turn up at the venue for other people to meet.  Can anyone be at the RAMM cafe (museum cafe) at 11ish - 11.30 on Sunday 7th April to meet others for a coffee and chat and then go on to do the family activities if people would like to?  If anyone has already made plans to go along  - please let me know and then I can let new members who contact me know. best wishes Claire

Handmade Book Workshop on Saturday

Nina Fenner's handmade book workshops are quite something. Her group made exposed spine books last night and there is one more workshop to go next Tuesday evening. I have asked Nina to run Saturday workshops and she has agreed. There will be three workshops during the day making different handmade books so you could come to one, two or all three workshops. The workshops will be between £15 - £20 each with a generously discounted rate for all three. If you are interested in finding out more please let Nina know you would like to be kept informed with dates, times and details. Email Nina Fenner at vince.fenner@hotmail.co.uk

March's Gingerbread Meeting

The next meet up for Exeter Gingerbread at the Hub on the Green is Wednesday 13th March 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

A message from Claire:

For anyone who would like to join us, we will be making Easter hats by revamping and revitalising old hats.  Please bring any hat that you  / your children no longer wear - baseball cap, woolly hat, alice band, sun hat etc etc and we will stick and glue to create an Easter hat.
I can bring my art materials for people to use with a donation of £3.00 per family for materials used.  If you would like to bring some of your own materials that you have been saving up for making that's great too.  The wonderous Poundland has an array of Easter craft-making materials and Easter hats.  Also please remember £1 donation for tea / coffee to put in the Hub's pink piggy bank.
